  • Certificate of Continuous Professional Development in Sexual Health Advising Skills

    This award will develop the student’s knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of sexual health advising through a programme of self directed study. The award can also be taken as part of the Specialist Practice Award in Public Health (Health Advising) an NMC registrable qualification.

  • Developing Standards for Psychological Support for Children, Adolescents and their Families living with HIV

    This meeting will launch the development of standards for psychological support for children and adolescents infected and affected by HIV. The purpose of this meeting is to explore what issues need to be addressed, identify key stakeholders, and to form a working group to develop the standards.

  • Brook annual sexual health conference and awards

    Young people’s sexual health charity Brook will be holding its annual conference on Thursday 3 March 2010 at America Square Conference Centre, London. The conference, Yes. No. Maybe? Young people, sex and consent, will look at the serious issues of young people and sexual consent, including research and policy in the area, the views of young people and examples of best practice. The conference will be chaired by Professor Roger Ingham, Director of the Centre for Sexual Health Research

  • SSHA South East Regional Study Day - CANCELLED

    A study day for health advisers and nurses in sexual health who are involved in the management of patients diagnosed with HIV infection. The Study Day will be held on Saturday 4th December 2010, at the Lecture Theatre, Southlands Hospital, Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex. This study day is free to participants. Lunch is provided.

  • 20th World Congress for Sexual Health: Glasgow

    The biennial WAS Congress unites international clinicians, researchers, educators, activists and policy makers specializing in the multitude of fields related to sexual health. Under the auspices of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS), attendees will share knowledge on diverse issues of behavioural, clinical, psychological, social and cultural aspects of sexual health; discover new information from experts and address the urgent need for action to ensure sexual health and rights for all.

  • SSHA Study Day - 8th October 2010

    Day Conference – Friday, 8th October 2010 - London. In order to meet our commitment to provide training for members, we are instead offering a one-day training event to be held in London. In recognition of the difficult financial circumstances that members are experiencing, this conference is being offered at a cost of £35 for members and £40 for non-members. Lunch will be included.   • SSHA Conference 2010

    This year’s SSHA conference will be at the Hilton Hotel Belfast from September 17th – 19th 2010. We work within a changing NHS and in particular face daily challenges to maintain a quality, professional Sexual Health Adviser service within the current sexual health arena. CPD is an important part of the ongoing professional agenda for all Sexual Health Advisers, and you are strongly encouraged to attend the SSHA conference this year.
